behind and spend eternity with the Lord. Armida was born in Los Angeles in 1948 but spent the
last 40 years of her life residing in Palmdale, CA. She is survived by her son Zachary, her
daughter in law Laura, and her 2 granddaughters Kaylee and Victoria, Sister Martha, brothers
Mario, Tony, Alfred, Carlos, Richard, David, and Joe. She was preceded in death by her parents
Joe and Dora Olivarez, sister Reynalda, and brothers Rene and Estefan.
Armida was dubbed a gatherer to her church friends. She never hesitated to book trips or
schedule a get together, especially if it was to worship the Lord. This same characteristic was
true in all of her life. While Armida had been retired for a few years, the time she spent
employed was no easy task. She was a supervisor to a team of rugged wind turbine workers. I
still remember the glow on her face after her first interview. ¨You will never guess what I did
today, I climbed a wind turbine!¨. Those of you who know her, know she had probably asked to
climb the tower rather than be told.
As tough as she was at work, she would drop anything to help someone in need. On paper she
had one son but there are many who consider her Mom. She was the oldest of 12 children,
which explains her motherly instincts. This became more prevalent after the passing of her
parents, Joe and Dora Olivarez.
While we can mourn her passing, her strong faith gives us certainty knowing she is in a far
better place than us. She is simply passing time until we can all be together once again.
And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the
believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope
