So much to think of, so much to remember, so hard to think. Always looking up to my brother, I can remember biting his chin when I was irritated at him. All in fun and I never really bit him... Love you big brother, enjoy Gods face.

My uncle worked hard his entire life. As with anyone, there were ups and downs. I will never forget his smile that never left his face. That smile symbolized to me a positive direction and energy. Peace.

Ben and Esther have been our neighbors for the last seven years.  Ben has always been there for us, as we have tried to be for them.
We will miss him so much, his smile and his jokes.........we will miss him.
HUGS for Miss Esther, we pray that God will see her through this time of grief.  God bless you both.

I will certainly miss my Uncle Ben. He was definitely the most caring and loving uncle a person could have. He loved his family dearly and will be missed greatly, but we have the promise that we will all meet again someday...he will be there with open arms and a warm hug !

Such a beautiful man.  I haven't see Sharon's dad since I lived in LA in the 80s.  But I'll never, ever forget his smile, his kindness, and his love for his family.  Happy Graduation Day, Ben!  While we shed tears here on Earth, Heaven is rejoicing!!

Whenever we lose someone near and dear to us, it is traumatic to say the least. The loss of a parent is almost impossible to describe. My father was the kindest, sweetest, most gentle man I have ever known. The sparkle in his eyes and that incredible smile are unforgettable. He love to laugh and make other people laugh. He was always coming up to me and saying "I got a joke for you", and it was usually a good joke too. His laugh was infectious and completely genuine. We had become so close in the last few years it was a wonderful thing for me to finally have such a great relationship with my Dad! I learned so much from him these last few years. One thing I learned was that my ability to deal with adversity is a trait I got from him! I've never seen anyone deal with such a hardship and yet stay so positive! I am so proud to say that in many ways we are very much alike. I feel both blessed and slighted to have grown so close and then to have him taken from us so soon. I already miss him terribly but I thank God he is now at peace. I love you soooo much Dad and I always will. God rest your soul dear Father!

I always admired what a strong work ethic Poppy had, I think he was the hardest working person I've ever met. He also was so full of joy and love! I would get so excited when he would come visit, you couldn't help but be happy around him, and I knew I'd get one of his bear hugs. I will always smile when I think of Poppy.

I will miss you Ben, you were a loving father and husband and a dear friend.
The Lord has called you home and I am so happy for you now that you are at peace.  My condolences to the family that they will be comforted at this time.

We will miss talking & your e-mails. Sure did love when  you& Esther would come to N.C. to visit.  We had some nice times together, you  and Esther. Our  Thoughts and Prayers are with Esther & family.

We are deeply saddened by the news of Ben/Poppi passing. Our heart felt condolences to Mom/Grandma and to all of the family. Our hearts are heavy with sympathy. A loved ones passing is never easy. We will always have loving memories of Ben/Poppi. Ben was a friend a Father and a wonderful Grandfather to Corey and Casey. When you lose someone you love, you gain an angel you know.

Aunt Esther - you are in our thoughts and prayers.  We treasure the conversations back and forth from FL to CA. He was a great grandpa <3 had the greatest hugs , the nicest smile , just full of life ;)  I will miss you so much. We always called him the " backpack grandpa" cause he would always send us backpacks with school supplies every year :) such a nice memory . Grandpa Ben you will always be n my heart and thoughts . I love you sooooo much

It has been many years since I saw my Uncle Ben, but I remember him as a kind and happy presence. He took notice of me as a child, and spent time teaching me something. It's amazing how such a seemingly small thing can remain after 55 or more years have passed. 

I'm thankful for the memories that Benjamin Reid's family has of him. They know that he thought of them, loved them, and was "For Them". He wasn't a man to take a rest, but worked as long as he was able. He was "old school" and that added to his charm and made him all the more loveable. 

To my cousins, and family members I would like to express my deepest condolences. You will be missing him deeply. Yet, take comfort in knowing that he is with Christ. Take a look at one another and see, ever so fondly, the different traits and gifts that each of you have inherited from Benjamin A. Reid.

Blessings and sympathy to the Family at your loss.  Uncle Bed was a person who filled the room with his presence - he was full of life and fun.  I often thought of the persistence it took to work in sales all his life.  But a "people person" would do that easily, and that is what he was!!  

Also, I recall some pretty evident excitement in the air when he finally got a son after all those daughters!! 

We always enjoyed our visits and one memory I have was back in Iowa when we visited there when I was really young.  Uncle Ben had saved some large boxes, and it was fall and the trees had dropped their leaves - we raked and filled up those boxes with leaves and we have photos of us kids inside the boxes with leaves piled all around.  

Daddys are irreplaceable in our lives!  They will impact us for our lifetime, and we celebrate their positive influence!  There is something very special as a little kid, about sitting on Daddy's lap and resting your head on his warm chest, feeling his arms around you.  No safer place to be held!  

We look forward to Heaven and are thankful that God, our Heavenly Father, had a wonderful plan that means we'll all be together again some day!  What a Glorious Day that will be!!

The greatest joy we have is that death is not final, Jesus has the last word.
"I am the Resurrection and the Life, whoever believes in Me will never die."  Dad gave his heart to the Lord as a young man and is not dead but waiting in heaven for all of us, we miss your sweet smile & happy nature.

Praise God for all the years we've had with dad, such special memories.  The assurance that we will see him again in heaven is very comforting.  We love you very much, Sharon & Wally Ouse
