Bessie Jean Wright was born on November 23, 1941 in Berwind, West Virginia to James & Ruby Carlton. She was the 7th child of 11 children. She accepted Christ into her life as a young child. She attended school in Columbus, Ohio. Shortly after high school she moved to Southern California. She worked as a Nanny for many years, before becoming a full-time grandmother to her grandchildren.
Bessie married her soulmate Alexander Joseph Wright August 10, 1968. They shared 3 children; Valarie, Kent and Tiffany. Bessie always gave back to those less fortunate. Her humble demeanor, words of wisdom, loving spirit, and genuine concern for every single person was a blessing to all she would encounter. She was a wonderful woman with a kind gentle soul. Bessie was affectionately known in the community as Grandma or Aunt Bessie to all those she came in contact with.
Bessie’s parents James & Ruby Carlton and husband Alexander Wright preceded her in death. Her brothers James Sr., Beryl and John, sisters Phyllis, Billie Jo and Linda also preceded her in death.
Remaining to cherish her memories are her children Valarie & Keith Lewis, Kent Wright, Tiffany & Joseph Ynestroza, her grandchildren Tierra, Terrell, Deanna & Jaden, her great grandson Isaiah, brothers Hayden & Thomas, sisters Hazel and Carol and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
