Betty Jane Bullock

Betty Jane Allen Bullock, age 91, of Newhall, CA. Passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015 after a long illness. She was born August 21, 1923 in Arma, KS to Oliver and Marzella Allen. Betty lived in Mountain View, MO until 1936 when she came to CAstaic, CA to live with her eldest sister, Dovie Allen Story and her family.

She attended Castic Elementary School for 6th through 8th grade. Betty then attended San Fernando High School through the 11th grade when she had to leave school to go to work. Attending night school, Betty received her long delayed diploma from Wm. S. Hart High School in 1965.

During the war, Betty worked at Bermite where she met and married Frank Brawley Jr. They had four children before she and Frank divorced in 1956.

Betty worked for Pacific Telephone in Newhall from 1952 until 1984 when she retired. She spent her later years tending her garden, building things and enjoying her family and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Bud" Bullock in 1981. She is survived by her brother, Brownie Allen; children: Jane Hughes, Jeanne Herring, Kathleen Flynn, and Bill Brawley (Susan); grandchildren: Joe Hermans (Lilia), Karrie DeMott (Brett), Marci Roy (Richard), John Herring (Rachel), and David Hughes; great-grandchildren: Donny and Christopher Hermans, Jacob and Justin Herring, Olivia Hebrank, Kaitlyn and Brittney DeMott. Betty recently became a Great-Great-Grandmother with the birth of Jase Herring.

Services will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 1:oo pm at Eternal Valley Memorial Park, 23287 Sierra Hwy, Newhall, CA 91321
