Betty Lou Neidhart of Lewis, Iowa was born on January 17, 1935. Married in 1954, she travled to California in the late 1950's with her husband Al who helped build major freeways including the 14 freeway, as a heavy equipment operator.
Betty, Al, and her only son, David were original occupants of Canyon Palms Mobile home park in Saugus, and Betty continued to live there for 56 years until her death on September 16, 2018. She served as a Park Manager for 30 years. She also worked outside of the home as a special need children's school bus driver at William S. Hart School District, as a cool and hostess at a nearby donut shop, and as a vending machine operator and cafeteria cook at College of the Canyons.
Betty was born on a farm and was a true farm girl through and through! She loved all farm animals, especially goats! Betty enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, caring for her adored dog, "Lady", her 75 year-old desert turtle, "Herman", and traveling, especially when accompanied by her granddaughter, Lydia.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Al Neidhart, in 2007. Son, David W. Neidhart, (Spouse, Cathy), grandchildren, Akzila, & Nathanael; three great-grandchildren, Prentice, Quentin, & William, and her dear sister, Beverly Mele of Virginia Beach, Virginia, all loved her and cherished listening to as she related the tales of a childhood from a previous way of life now forgotten. We will miss her greatly.
Those who wish are welcome to pay their respects at her Memorial Service, at Eternal Valley Memorial Park, 23287 North Sierra Highway, Newhall; officiated b Pastor Wayne Wilson of Acton Faith Church on Tuesday, October 5th, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.
