Betty Ann Robinson was born on June 20, 1936, in Gallatin, Tennessee. She was the second of 10 children (seven sisters and three brothers) born to Curve Daniel and Lillian Lee Woods. Her sisters Effie Mai Walker, Elizabeth Ann Yates, Sara Menefee, and brothers C.D. Woods Jr., Robert (Chuck) Woods preceded her in death.
Betty received her former education at Union High School, Gallatin, Tennessee earning her diploma in 1956. She was recognized as Home Coming Queen and Drum Majorette. She was also recognized as Miss Bobby Sox during her Senior class drama play. She was the first to receive a driver’s license out of ten children.
She left Gallatin, Tennessee for a job in 1956, and moved to California. Shortly after her arrival in California, Betty met and married Isaac (Ike) Robinson on November 7, 1958. The two were together for 53 years, until Ike’s passing in 2011. Betty worked at Price Pfister in Pacoima, California for approximately 30 years, as a Production Manager until her retirement. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, hard worker and loving sister. Betty’s favorite pastime was spending time on the golf course. She was big on traveling, decorating, cooking, gardening, listening to jazz music and dancing.
After a few years of health issues, Betty’s health started to deteriorate, and she ended her journey on October 24, 2023. She leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life: One son Bobby (Maria) Robinson of Covina, California; two daughters Deirdre (Theodore) Montgomery of Palmdale, California and Yolanda (Stephen) Nelson of Santa Clarita, California; three stepchildren, Gregory Robinson of Val Verde, California, Debra Simpson of San Diego, California and Valerie Irons of Las Vegas, Nevada; three sisters, Francis Cravens of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Annie Mae Gerald of Temple Hill, Maryland, Emma Malone of Colombia, South Carolina and Kenneth Lee (Marva) Woods of Hermitage, Tennessee; her sister-in-law, Gloria Tademy of Los Angeles, California, her 93 year old Auntie Emma Louise Ewing of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
