Bill Kopatz

William Kopatz, 95, of Santa Clarita, California, passed away on June 14, 2024 in Mission Hills, California. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Christ Lutheran Church in Santa Clarita, with Pastor Garrett Siemsen of Christ Lutheran Church, officiating.

William Kopatz was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to Rosa and Willam Kopatz on March 21, 1929. He attended Johnson High School in Scranton. He married Edith Swartz on December 29, 1949 in Lafayette Hills, Pennsylvania, separating in 1971. He married Belinda Zeiger on August 4, 1978 in Morrisville, Pennsylvania. He worked as a tool and die maker, primarily at Jade Corporation, for 45 years. Upon retiring and a subsequent move to California, he served at Christ Lutheran Church, Placerita Canyon Nature Center, and various homeless food distribution centers.

William Kopatz is preceded in death by his wife, Belinda Kopatz.

William Kopatz is survived by his children, Patty Schroeder and husband John Schroeder, Kenneth Kopatz and wife Okkwon Kim, Pamela Sharp and husband Bryan Sharp, Lauren O’Brien and husband Gregory, Glenn Zeiger and wife Cathie Zeiger, Daryl Zeiger, Dean Zeiger and fiancé Jen McClelland.
