“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” – Psalm 116:15
Sunrise: 9-10-1940 – Sunset: June 19, 2025
With broken hearts but faith-filled hope, we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Carmen Hilda, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who peacefully fell asleep in Jesus on June 19, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Puerto Rico, she lived a life marked by perseverance, sacrifice, and unshakable strength. A proud Puerto Rican woman, she embodied the spirit of her island: vibrant, bold, deeply rooted in faith, and fiercely devoted to family.
Hilda was never one to back down from life’s challenges. She lived through hardship but never allowed her circumstances to harden her heart. She was feisty, stubborn in the best way, and unafraid to speak her mind. Yet behind her fire was a well of tenderness—always giving, always loving, always showing up for her family, even when it cost her everything.
She raised her children with grit and grace, instilling in them the values of faith, hard work, and unconditional love. Her grandchildren knew her as their safe place, their biggest cheerleader, and the one who always made sure everyone had eaten—twice.
As a Seventh-day Adventist, Hilda clung tightly to the promises of God. Her hope was not in this life alone, but in the blessed assurance of Christ’s return. She believed deeply in the Sabbath rest and looked forward to the day when pain and tears would be no more.
She is survived by her loving children: John & Marisol Losoya; Bill Losoya & Angie Guerrero; Ruth & James Andrade Sr., and Peter Martinez. Her treasured grandchildren, great-grand children, her dear siblings, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and a plethora of friends who adored her. She was preceded in death by her parents Guillermo and Blanca Santana, and youngest brother, Ruben Santana.
A celebration of her life and hope in the resurrection will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, Beginning at 11:00 am and ending at 3:00 pm, at Eternal Valley Memorial Park Mortuary, 23287 N. Sierra Hwy, Newhall CA 91321. Her viewing, visitation, funeral service and graveside service will be held at this location.
Though her presence is no longer with us, her legacy—one of strength, selflessness, laughter, and deep love—will continue in each of us. We take comfort in knowing that, on that great day, we will see her again.
“For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout... and the dead in Christ shall rise first.” – 1
