IN THE CARE OF
Eternal Valley Memorial Park & Mortuary
Carolyn Kathleen Schlender, age 79, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 27 at her home in Saugus. Born in Morris, Illinois on January 25, 1943, to Robert and Eloise Atkinson, Carol was a brave and strong woman who courageously battled MS for almost 30 years. Carol lived in Santa Clarita for 53 years.
Carol loved reading, cooking, crocheting, Days of Our Lives (never missing an episode), shopping, and dressing up. She was the queen of accessorizing. What she loved the most was her family. She was the epitome of what it means to love unconditionally. She was a devoted mother of six, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a caregiver to all even in the last years of her life. She supported her husband while he battled lung disease, and her mother, father, sister, and brother as they all battled various illnesses. She worked as a retail clerk in Santa Clarita for over 20 years and spent her free time cheering on her children and grandchildren throughout the years at William S. Hart Baseball.
Carolyn is survived by her children Keven (wife, Tammy), Brian (wife, Rena), John, Christina Bakoo (husband, Louie), grandchildren, Eliza, Brandan (wide, Lapree), Michelle (Husband, Jack), Robert (wife, Antonette), Joshua (Wife, Haley), Cameron, Stephanie, Corey, Sierra, Jordan, Jeremy, Matthew, Jayson, and 10 great-grandchildren all from Santa Clarita. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel, and her sons, Danny and Daren.
Funeral services will take place at Eternal Valley Mortuary, 23287 N Sierra Hwy, Newhall 91321 at 10:00 am (Viewing/Visitation at 9:00 am).
