Ceferino “Eddie” Galban, age 72, from Palmdale, California passed away with his wife and children by his side on October 26, 2021. Eddie was born on February 3, 1949, to Dominador and Ceferina Galban in Agoo La Union Philippines, he was the third eldest of eight children.
Eddie is survived by his beloved wife Magdalena “Maggie” Galban with whom he shared 51 wonderful years of marriage, his seven siblings (Efren, Bobby, Danny, Manny, Gloria, Ramon and Morry), his three children Michael Galban (wife Cathy), Eddie Galban (wife Wendy), and Darlene Galban McConville (husband Eric) who are grateful for having such an incredible father. He was also lovingly known as “Papa G” and will be terribly missed by his four grandchildren Kellen Galban, Myles Galban, Greyson McConville, and Addeline McConville.
Eddie attended St. Louis University in Baguio City, Philippines where he achieved his bachelor's degree in Business Management. This is where he met the love of his life, Maggie, while she was visiting her brother in 1969. Eddie and Maggie were married in 1970 before he emigrated to the United States where he worked hard to save enough money to bring his wife to America in 1971. He later found his calling in the auto insurance industry and retired after 32 years with his last position of Operations Supervisor at 21st Century Insurance in 2005.
Eddie was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who made sure that his family was always properly provided for. He took great pride in his family and made sure he was always present for their achievements. He enjoyed traveling the world with his wife and treasured gatherings with his loved ones. He had a love for planting, vegetable growing, maintaining his pristine home and cooking the most delicious Filipino dishes for his friends and family. He enjoyed watching football and basketball games as he was a loyal 49ers and Lakers fan. His loved ones will forever cherish their memories with him.
