Christopher Reese Becker lived 50 wonderful years; he passed away on November 13, 2016. Although his time with us was too brief, Chris’s personal mantra was, “keep it short and sweet and don’t repeat”. He was a man of his word and an exceptional person. His friends and family would say he was the most honest, caring, gentle, loving, and sincere man who genuinely “walked the walk”.
Chris was born in Torrance, CA on April 13, 1966. He attended Whittier High School graduating with the class of 1983. He earned a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Business from Cal Poly Pomona. Chris worked as a CPA for the last 15 years and was a Senior Auditor at Bank of America.
He enjoyed participating in anything and everything to do with the outdoors. He loved swimming, camping, fishing, racing and tending to the 8 acres of land he shared with his wife, Renae, 7 dogs, 2 horses and 2 barn cats. Although it was not uncommon to find Chris pulling weeds, riding his green tractor, playing with the dogs, barbequing and video-gaming, he loved spoiling his wife most of all. Whether it be a simple act of washing the dishes or cleaning the house, he did it with a BIG smile (and often a goofy dance) knowing it would brighten her day better.
Chris was also very passionate about his participation in church and selflessly committed his life to Christ and becoming a person God would be proud of. He was an admirable man with an innate ability to selflessly help others which is undoubtedly one of the largest lessons we learned from his time with us.
He is survived by his loving wife Renae Becker of 12 years; stepchildren Ryan Wilson and Karly Chung; his fur-children Tommy, Ellie Mae, Minnie, Becca, Nash, Miss Kitty, Peanut, Bob, Sherbert, Moses and Andy; sister Andrea Becker; sister Kim Becker; brother Rick Becker and his wife Yvette Becker; niece Lauren Becker; nephew Garrett Becker; brother Brian Becker and his wife Lynn Becker; niece Demi Becker; brother Bob Becker and his wife Linda Becker; brother Sterling Cross; sister Lyvette; and stepmother Orpha Becker.
Words cannot describe how greatly we will miss our Chris. We seek comfort in knowing he is reunited in heaven with his father, Robert Becker and his stepmother, Jean Becker. We are so thrilled he will have the chance to meet Nascar driver, Dale Earnhardt Sr.
We love you with all our hearts, Chris; we will see you again.
