Donna Mae Goss Farrell, age 89, died of natural cause’s incident to old age on February 12, 2015 at her home in Burbank. Donna is survived by her 5 children Melinda (Merrill) Barney, Roxanne Whittekiend, Gerry (Nancy) Goss, Michael (Cleo) Goss and Jodi Peltier. She also has 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.
Donna was born on January 29, 1926 in Oceanside, CA. to Helen and Kenneth Coryell. They moved to Burbank in 1928. During WWII she began working at the Bell Telephone Co. and throughout her life she worked at an answering service. Donna married Arthur Johnson and they had Melinda. They were later divorced. She then married Eugene M. Goss Jr. And they had Roxanne, Gerry, Michael and Jodi. Eugene passed away and then Donna married Michael Farrell, they later divorced. Donna was a social, active woman who was deeply involved in volunteer work. Family and friends will remember her as a lively, compassionate, generous person. She volunteered extensively at the Joslyn senior center and the Red Cross. She belonged to the Burbank professional women’s association. She volunteered daily at the Joslyn center and worked one day a week at the Oak Title Co until the age of 86. She received many certificates of achievement for her volunteer work and was recognized by the state of California and President George W. Bush. She loved to dance (ballroom, square, line, and hula). She taught hula and line dancing. She was always the “belle of the ball” and was even crowned Queen of her “Senior Prom” at the Joslyn senior center.
A funeral was held on Monday Feb, 16 2015 at the LDS Church at the Sunset and Olive in Burbank. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Valley Best Hospice in Burbank in her name.
