Doris Eleanor Calton was born to Zechariah & Leelavati Nehemiah on July 15, 1925. She was the eldest of her four siblings. Since childhood she had a great desire to be an educator. But after losing her parents at a very early age, she had to slow down to take care of her siblings. This family of four faced all the challenges together believing in, “As thy days, so shall thy strength be;"—Deuteronomy 33:25.
Doris continued to be an educator. She got married to a handsome professor Eugene Gilbert Calton in May 1957. They settled down in Fatehgarh India. They were both great educators. She earned Master’s degree in English Literature, Sociology, History and Philosophy. Doris retired in 1997. Soon after retirement, Doris and Eugene moved to United States to be full time grandparents for Neil & Pearl.
Doris is survived by her daughter Sujata Rawate, Son in law Pradeep Rawate, Grandson Neil Rawate & Granddaughter Pearl Rawate.
