Douglas Stephen McGee

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Douglas Stephen McGee on August 28, 2021 in Valencia. Doug was born to loving parents Michael and Debbie McGee on January 11, 1989, in Glendale.

As a young boy he loved competing in sports ¬– football, baseball, and basketball¬¬ – and looked forward to summer fishing trips with friends. A 2007 graduate of Saugus High School, Doug also studied at College of the Canyons. Affectionately known as Dougy, he could often be found playing his favorite video games or watching the History channel and sharing stories with his grandpa. He loved his family dogs, playing poker, and had a capacity for laughter and fun. His frequent silly shouts of “woot woot” will be missed.

In addition to his mother and father, he is survived by his daughter Scarlett; brothers Brandon (Jessica) and Matthew (Carly) McGee; niece Ellie and nephews Jameson and Colton; plus many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Ina and Alvin Messerschmidt.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 23 at 2 p.m. at Eternal Valley Memorial Park (23287 North Sierra Highway, Newhall).
