Edgardo Catchuela Espina was born in Bulacan, Philippines to Antonio Espina and Estelita (Catchuela) Espina on November 16, 1955, the oldest of seven children. On May 27, 2021, he lost his battle with cancer. He passed while in the comfort of his own home surrounded by loved ones. Edgardo Espina was a man of a few words, who led with actions. He was selfless, generous in nature, and truly dedicated to his family. He lost his father at the young age of 13. He took on the father figure role to his younger siblings and helped support the household. At the age of 17, he began his lifetime career as a telecommunications specialist, responsible for programming telephone systems, installation, and preventative maintenance for businesses, secured government buildings, aviation control towers, and casinos. He continued this path for over 45 years until his retirement in 2017.

Everything Ed did was for the betterment of his family. An exemplar father and loyal, loving husband, he encouraged family gatherings to bring everyone together. He nurtured the bond between those dearest to him. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and had the pleasure of his company.

Uncle Ed has always been someone we can run to. He's always been open arms. So helpful and so generous. I love his BIG bright smile. His vibe and energy was always vibrant and yet so comforting. I will always love you and remember you, Uncle Ed.

Gee, I don’t know where to start of the memories I had with a uncle Ed. If you knew Uncle Ed, then you met the most genuine man you will ever know. He was the nicest person to every one and I have nothing bad to say about him whatsoever. I remember the times I spent with him and his family when my auntie Baby would visit P.I. He welcomed me to his hometown and his whole family are very generous. He took me in as his own daughter. He always had a smile on his face. I have never witness him upset or mad which is rare for anyone to not see that. It just goes to show how he was a happy and Godly man. I will forever miss you. A Hui Hou
