In April of 1962, Emma Lee married Otis Thorne, and to this union, they were blessed with two daughters, Tina and Christine Thorne. As years passed, they decided to separate. She decided to move to Pasadena, California, with her grandparents (Daddy Van and Emma (aka) Big Mama Hammett). She later moved to Pacoima, California, and was blessed with Eric White and Marqux Bowing.
Emma secured employment at Crossroads Hospital, where she worked for several years. Emma enjoyed visiting Church on The Way in Van Nuys, California.
On December 13, 2021, Emma Lee Thorne departed this life in Van Nuys, California.
Remaining to cherish her memory are her children: Tina Thorne, Christine Thorne, Eric (April) White, and Marqux Bowing; her grandchildren: Mischell Hutchinson, Roychella Petitt Quinn, Michael Strane, Keianna & Robert Screen, Arianna & Michael Watson, Dionnae Rhone, Marshinae Derrico, Marque Derrico, Kendra White, and Xavier Lee; her great-grandchildren: Brianna Frye, Terrence Quinn, Queen'Heavean Quinn, Cairo & Mila James, and Aaron Screen. Along with a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mavis, and Earleen Bowman; two brothers, Alfred Rogers, and Mose Bowman, one sister, Lula May Bowman, and one sister-in-law, who she loved very much, Deborah Bowman.
