Ernie Green was gracious in spirit, generous of heart, sensitive and caring.  He was also my dear friend and mentor.  I thought of him as artistically brilliant in Garde Manger, notwithstanding his many other culinary accomplishments.  

We were introduced when I enrolled as a teenager in the Culinary Arts program at LATTC.  We developed an immediate affinity and became friends.  Ernie generously invited me on several occasions to join him and his family for skiing at their Mammoth Mountain condominium.  When I required a character reference for business school, Ernie graciously provided me one.  We always kept in touch - mostly infrequently, but every time we did speak, it was as if the great spans of time melted away.  Our conversations were always animated with laughs and affection.  He profoundly enhanced my life as he, no doubt , did for countless others.  He will be sorely missed. God Bless You Ernie.

I met Ernie after Michelle and Chuck were married and it was a pleasure to be around him.  He was always a gentleman and a very caring, interesting person. I am sorry for your loss and will keep him in my prayers.
