Francisca Torres de Becerra was a beloved homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend. She lost her battle with breast cancer on October 10, 2022. She was born in San Juan de Abajo, Nayarit, Mexico and was an almost 50 year resident of Canyon Country, CA. She loved her family and was the caretaker of many of her nephews, nieces, and grandchildren throughout the years. She was an active member of St. Clare’s Parish. She loved dancing Zumba with her friends, and always enjoyed exercising, especially walking around her community. Her physical fitness was a source of pride for her. She was a volunteer at Rio Vista Elementary where her children and grandchildren attended school. Despite having a 5th grade education, all of her children and now her grandchildren, have attended or began a college education. She had a sharp wit, and often a heavy hand, but it made her be able to control any situation, despite her small stature.
She leaves behind her husband and partner of 52 years, Miguel Becerra, her children, Ana Anderson (Richard Anderson), Julia Bernard (James Bernard), and Juan Diego Becerra, and her grandchildren, Miranda Anderson, Marissa Anderson, Oscar Bernard, Kaylin Becerra, and Diego Becerra (as well as their mother, her ex daughter-in-law Sandy Becerra), her siblings, Guadalupe Castillo, Tiburcio Torres, Manuel Torres, Martin Torres, Lola Torres, Martha Torres, Gloria Torres, Claudia Gil, Jose de Jesus Torres, Erika Torres, Gonzalo Gonzales, Reymundo Ramirez, and Fidel Ramirez, as well as countless nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and godchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Miguel Becerra, Jr., her parents Roman Torres II and Epifania Palomera, her brother Roman Torres III.
The family would like to remind all that early detection and treatment is key in the fight against breast cancer. Make sure you have your screenings. Check out any lumps. Do not ignore your instincts. Get a second or third opinion. Do not let doctors be dismissive. Find compassionate doctors willing to help you find out what is wrong. We would especially like to thank the oncologists at the City of Hope for helping mom when others did not.

A committal service will occur Friday, November 4, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 23287 North Sierra Hwy, Newhall, CA 91321.
