Gene Folke Broman, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on June 22, 2013. He was born July 28, 1930 in Murray, Utah. He was the only child of Folke Eugen and Edith Linnea Alm Broman. Gene’s parents returned to Sweden when he was a baby. After graduating from high school Gene returned to the United States.
He met the love of his life, Jeannette Anna Sandberg. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on February 15, 1952. They raised four children; Barbara, Lori, Gene and Rick.
Gene earned his Bachelor’s degree in accounting and his MBA. He started his career as a CPA and continued as a controller and CFO of several companies.
He was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and actively involved in scouting for over forty years. Proud of his Swedish heritage, Gene was committed to the Swedish organization, Vasa and enjoyed helping others find their own Swedish heritage and ancestors. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannette; his children, Barbara Crane (Jerry), Lori Fletcher (Jim), Gene Broman (Linda), and Rick Broman (Susan); 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. on June 27, 2013 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel, 24915 Peachland Ave, Newhall, CA.
