Dad grew up during WW2 and helped raise his brothers and sisters with his mother Margaret while his father Stanley was away at war. He left home at 18 to serve in the Royal Air Force in the communications division and traveled to many countries during his service. When he left the RAF, he went to Canada to work in telecommunications, but tired of the long cold winters so he sought out a warmer climate. His search brought him to Santa Monica California, working for General Telephone (GTE), later Verizon. He met his first wife Mary Ann at GTE and they had two children, Dorothy and Peter. He gained three more children when he married Jane Kemper in 1982. He is deeply grateful to his family and grandchildren for their love and concern over this past difficult year without his Jane and with the pandemic keeping him confined to his apartment. Now he is at peace and once again with his Jane.
