My condolences to the family. I pray that God give you all strength through this difficult time. My fondest memory is having the opportunity to have met you and Della for the very first time almost 40 years ago in South Gate, CA! You were great neighbors and even better friends. There were too many days spent visiting, laughing, and just eating good food.
You were always so funny and loved to dance. Rest In Peace.
I also had the pleasure of meeting your mother, Gloria she was a very sweet lady. May she R.I.P.

Your Friend Always,
Carmen Garcia

Remembering how he was with Gilly and his home run hits....he was always proud of him. We went out for pizza and you & Gilly would sit in your own table talking just among yourselves.... I would say to myself what a wonderful Dad you where. I remember you as being such a calmed man & very loveable towards your family.

Also, Grandma Betty always bragged about your peach cobbler. How she would say "oooh its soooo delicious 😋," lol She loved it so much! We are so sorry to hear about your loss. Lifting you up in prayer Della, Gil, Karen, Denise...love you Guys ❤ Mona

Gilbert your truly going to be missed I remember you always watching Sports on TV With little gilly by your side or on your lap. I remember you taking me to my first dodger game , Explaining the game to me, I still have The bat they gave out that day, you took Sarah and I fishing and taught us how to put the worm on the hook, We had a good time. When I started dating he told me if anyone mistreated me to let him know. When I got married he told me I could call him if I needed help with any recipes, which I surely did. I’m going to miss those times calling for a recipe, until we meet again. 💕 love sockie

Dad, no words can describe how I feel knowing that your not coming back from the hospital. I prayed everyday for you and that we could have our talks again. I looked forward to you showing me how to cook some more of your famous dishes. I’ll always remember I was pitching little league and the other team saw that I was a girl they started chanting some stuff and I remember I looked at you and you touched your chin and put your chin up (keep your head up) and then yelled “give them hell Mija” and struck out 2 boys and they were still talking mess and looked at you again and made a hand gesture to throw one in the dug out. So I did and got the loudest one right in the face. I don’t remember getting thrown out haha but I remember they weren’t talking mess again.

Miss you dad!

I love this story, which mom told me. She said, when I was little you would ask me over & over to say your name....Gilbert & I would say, Bobo. And it stuck!!!🥰

I feel so blessed to have spoken to you the day before you left this world. I will never forget telling you I loved you & you saying, I love you to sis. I hear your words over & over in my head.

I know you’re dancing away with mom & Tata, cooking up your famous “Shit on a shingle” & enjoying grandma’s awesome beans. Give my baby boy a big hug for me.

Love & miss you💓

There are so many memories with you Gil, when you were living in South gate and I went fishing with you. And I caught a seal we couldn't stop laughing.

I remember You singing "Glory of Love" when we were living in L.A upstairs next to Tia Dolores and I will just put my face on the back of the couch and hear you sing Love your voice, & playing the drums.

And when you caught me smoking at lucky Baldwin in the dugout, real calmly you said come on let's go, we walk home and you tell me come on so we go to the backyard and you kept on handing me
a cigarette one after another. Smoke it you want to smoke go ahead smoke it, the whole pack that you had till the pack was gone. To this day I have never ever smoked another cigarette, through all of it Bobo you never raised your voice and he stayed calm through it all. I cried so hard ,😭 thank you Bobo. That was a good lesson learned that will last me a lifetime! You have always been that big strong brother of mine that I've always looked up to. Going to miss all your stories & your jokes hahahaha. Another part of my ❤️ taken, but never ever forgotten. You're always with me that big strong angle looking over me please. Miss & Love you badly. Till I see you again Bobo
