There are some people who leave a mark on your life that time can’t erase, and he was one of them. I keep thinking about those Easter holidays we shared, simple, happy moments that now mean everything. The laughter, the conversations, the way he always made light of any situation… memories I’ll always hold close.

Greg, you will be missed. Love you. Rest in eternal peace.

I've known Greg for as long as I can remember, and my childhood is filled with memories of him

I’m still trying to find the right words… Big G meant so much to me. He was like a second father to me too. The way he showed love, gave advice, and just made you feel welcome is something I’ll never forget. My heart hurts for the family, We lost a real one, but his love and the impact he had on us will always stay with us.

Rest Well Uncle Greg you'll be missed. Its hard for me to put in words cause I didn't get to spend time with you in my adult life. I just want to thank you for being a father figure for me at a young age. I'll always remember fun the times we shared when you would take me to the park. Greg was my son-in-law, and even after he and my daughter parted, he remained an important part of our family. They stayed close and continued to share a strong friendship, which speaks volumes about the kind of person he was.

He was a wonderful father to my grandchildren—Brianna, Imari, and Cheyenne—and a loving presence to my great-grandchildren, Christopher, Iyana, and Stephanie. He was present, caring, and deeply committed to all of them. Greg had a joyful spirit. He was outgoing, always smiling, and had a way of making people laugh and feel at ease.

I will always remember the kindness he showed our family during one of our hardest times. When my son passed, Greg’s words brought comfort and strength that I have never forgotten. That was who he was—someone who showed up for others with sincerity and heart.

He will be remembered with love and gratitude, and his presence will truly be missed.

You were the big brother I never had… you had my back…no questions.  L.A. in the 80’s and 90’s?  Perilous. I thank you for being there for me. News of your passing broke my heart. It’s broken further still that I cannot be there for your celebration of life. If not for my 1st born’s first baby shower, I would be, without question. You are loved by many, none more than by your children. You will be missed but never forgotten. Rest easy brotha.

Mr. Greg Bell was my children’s adopted grandpa but you would never know that we weren’t related. We always enjoyed hearing his stories about his travels and the plans for our future visits that unfortunately will never be able to come to fruition. He gave me my very best friend and two adopted sisters that I cherish more than words can explain! He was taken way too soon! From the day I met Greg, he accepted me as one of his own and I’ll forever be grateful for this man. May he rest in peace with our creator until we all meet again!

Sending condolences to the entire Bell Family.  I know this is a huge and hard loss to all of his children and grandchildren.   I know he loved you and showed up for you.     Blessed to have had that village with Pamm and Greg with raising all the kids together.    I always enjoyed Greg he stayed joking around and making everyone laugh.  He was truly a presence on Fern Ave.    It was a pleasure to have had this time with him.      May your memories keep him near and dear to you all.

I remember when I first met you on the train u were playing dominoes and we talked about football. Then you started selling sandwiches chips and soda  for five dollars we enjoyed that. I brought you to my job and you worked two different jobs there till you got the truck driving job I so happy for you. Last time we chatted on train we talked the whole time about everything life and things started getting better for us. U always a true friend to me even when I going through things we talked and u helped me through all of it. I glad I able to meet you. Rest in peace brother your friend Ray

Gregory Bell the life of the party 🥳 can't you tell just by the picture, lol! There are not enough words to express how deeply saddened I have been with this loss. He was a an awesome Father and Grandfather, he loved his family! Gregory was love and that's what we all have left to hold on to.

The death of a loved one, a friend, a child, a sibling, a husband, a father leaves a void that feels impossible to fill, turning a world of shared dreams into a silent, overwhelming reality. Yet, within that deep, quiet pain, stories of hope will emerge, showing that while the grief never fully disappears, it changes shape, allowing life—and love—to continue.

We may began to notice small things. We may recognize Gregory's confidence his sons Michael and Little Gregory; and in his daughters Brianna, Imari, and Cheyenne, we may recognize his humor in their laugh; and we may see his smile in his brothers Ricky and Demetrius; and his very caring attitude in his mother Betty and his confidant and mother of his daughters Pamela.

As with his brother Illya (Pete Pete)  we will miss Greg deeply, but we can learn to carry his memory not as a heavy weight, but as a warm anchor. To God be the glory!

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Greg was someone who always seemed a step ahead, the first to laugh and the first to bring joy into any moment. He carried a lighthearted spirit, often reflected in the simplest things- like eagerly, grabbing the first piece of monkey bread with a grin. That was just who he was warm, genuine, and full of life. 

Those who knew Greg will always be grateful for the memories he helped create. Whether during lively Fourth of July parties, or in the quiet, everyday moments of togetherness, he had a way of turning time spent with others into something meaningful. Laughter followed him whether he went and it became one of the many gifts he shared so freely. 

Greg was also a devoted and loving father and grandfather to his daughters and his grandkids, a role he embraced with pride and unwavering care. His guidance often came with humor, but beneath it was sincerity,  wisdom, and a deep sense of love.

Though time may soften the details of certain moments, the feeling Greg left behind will never fade-the warmth,  the laughter, and the comfort of his presence. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

And yet, in many ways it feels like Greg was simply done what he always did-gone ahead, leading the way. 

God willing we will meet again Greg! Triple OG, Double OG!

We always called him "Uncle Greg", as my sons were very fond of him and spoke of him often, even though it had been quite a while since last seeing him.

This is the kind of positive and loving impact he had on others—one that was lasting and felt from miles away—and it speaks volumes about the man he was and the legacy he leaves.

Greg was such a kind, genuine person and always made people feel good just being around him. I’ll always remember that about him. He was an amazing dad and friend, and he’ll be missed.

My sincere condolences to the Bell family. Greg was truly an amazing person to know. From the very first moment I met him, I could see his heart. He deeply loved his children and had more than enough love to share with mine as well. He had a special way of making everyone feel welcomed and cared for.

I pray that God grants the entire family peace during this difficult time and the strength to rejoice in Him, knowing that He is a God who makes no mistakes.

People will say you create some of the best memories in childhood. I will say we had the best time on The 111, we don’t call it 111th street, it’s THE 111. So many kids on one street. 🤣❤️The water fights, football games in the middle of the street, the basketball games in the backyard, riding bikes,walking to the dairy and running in and out of everyone’s houses during the summer while our parents were at work. SMH we had so much fun, laughter , countless jokes , good times and everyone was family. A good foundation. I know you grew up and created that very same environment for your family and filled them with joy and love. Rest Easy Greg.
