Hannah Jean Curry received her call to heaven on March 11, 2011. Born in Louisville, Kentucky on July 31, 1930, she traveled west to California in the early 70"s where she began her career as a waitress. She worked for several restaurants over the years which included the Encino Inn and Eddie Sauls in Encino. She later managed apartment buildings with her husband Gordon Curry in Van Nuys and Northridge before retiring to Palmdale.
She met Gordon at the First Baptist Church of Van Nuys and they married in 1978. She was a loving wife to Gordon and a caring mother to her step-children John (Carol), Diana and Robert (Gayle); granddaughters Kimberly (Matthew) Chrystal, Robin (Andy), Samantha and Kasmere and grandson John; great-grandchildren Halie, Lailaney, Raiden, Marcus and Dylan. Her family and Christianity came first.
Hannah was a very giving person and supported many charities throughout the years, especially when it came children. Her compassion for all God's creatures allowed her to hold a soft spot in her heart for wayward animals. It was more important fro her to give than receive. She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother and was kind and generous to all. Hannah developed may friendships throughout her life with a magnetic personality.
A strong willed woman she accepted any challenge with determination. She had the courage of a lion and the heart of a lamb. Hannah now sits with the Lord Our Father and will continue to guide family and friends through life with her ever-present loving spirit. She will forever be in our hearts and we will only need to look towards heaven for her continued inspiration.
