Harold G. Edyburn "June Bug", 82, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2013 at Northridge Hospital in Northridge, CA. He was born on April 15, 1930 in Melrose Park, IL to Harold and Ethel "Daisy" Threet Edyburn.
Harold grew up in Maywood, IL, and attended Proviso East High School. He joined the Marine Corps in 1947 at Camp Lejueune, North Carolina. He toured the North Atlantic and the Mediterranean Area on board the U.S.S. Midway, during the Korean War. Harold was awarded an Honorable Discharge in 1951 at the rank of Corporal.
Harold married Lois Fierce on May 2,1953. Together they raised their three children, Michael, Scott, and Susan in Wheaton, Illinois. In 1968, the family moved to California, where Harold began his career in the lithography business with his childhood friend, Charlie "Bud" Evans. In 1989, Harold lost his wife of 35 years, Lois, after a long illness.
"June Bug" was Vice President at Angel Photo Color Service and owner of Halo Litho and California General Graphics. He worked with numerous record companies recreating the artwork for albums and CDs. June Bug always cherished his partners, employees, clients, and the professionals he worked with, and considered them all a part of his family. He loved his job, and never considered it work.
June Bug retired in July,1995.
Harold was preceded in death by his mother, Daisy, his brother, Billy, his wife, Lois, and his son, Michael. He is survived by his loving companion, Jeanie of Newhall,CA; his son, A.Scott Edyburn of Merrill, WI; his daughter, Susan (Steve) Pepper of Encinitas, CA; his brother, Donald (Barbara) Edyburn of Zephyrhills, FL; his grandchildren, Wendy, Emily, Steven, Brittany, and Michael; his nieces and nephews and other relatives; his dear friend, Victor and many other friends.
Private services will be held at Eternal Valley on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 in Newhall, CA.
