Hooshang was a beloved teacher, leader, and friend. As my professor, Hooshang always made me feel seen and cared for especially during a trying time in my home life. No matter my mood, I could always count on Hooshang and the Persian class to bring a smile to my face. I am a better man for having known Hooshang.

Hooshang was truly a remarkable man, someone whose warmth, kindness, and patience left a deep impression on everyone who met him. His caring nature and generosity made him a pillar of the Iranian community in Salt Lake City, where he devoted so much of his time and energy to serve the Iranian community in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He loved his culture deeply and took great pride in the beautiful handicraft art of Isfahan. Through his passion for this traditional art, he shared a piece of Iran’s soul with everyone around him, keeping those rich traditions alive and inspiring others to appreciate them as well. Hooshang was truly exceptional in this regard.  We cannot think of anybody who comes close.

Hooshang’s kindness and dedication were constant. He was helping a newcomer settle into the community, organizing cultural gatherings, and simply offering a warm smile and a kind word. He gave of himself freely and wholeheartedly, and his presence made people feel seen, valued, and cared for.

Those who knew Hooshang will always remember his generous heart, his quiet strength, and his unwavering love for both people and culture. His spirit will continue to live on in the community he served and in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Our deepest condolences go to his beloved wife Mehri joon and the rest of his family. May they find comfort in knowing how deeply Hooshang was loved by us and our children.
