Hugo Estuardo Lau-Comparini

On February 19, 2026, our beloved father, Hugo Estuardo Lau Comparini, went home to be with the Lord. Our hearts are broken, and our family will never be the same. He was the foundation of our family—our protector, provider, teacher, and shining example of faith.

Hugo was a man of remarkable courage and persistence. Born in Guatemala, he made the life-changing decision to bring his family to the United States in pursuit of a better future. Guided by faith in God, he started over in a new country, not for himself, but for his children and loved ones.

Through years of hard work and sacrifice, Hugo achieved his dream of owning a small electronics shop in Burbank, California. What began as a modest stall at a local swap meet grew into a successful electronics, video, and computer store built entirely from the ground up. Though larger businesses eventually moved in, he remained proud of what he had created—and of the determination and integrity that defined his life’s work.

Beyond his professional success, Hugo was a deeply intelligent and endlessly curious man with a passion for learning. He loved exploring new ideas and sharing his knowledge with others. His encouragement and example continue to inspire his family to dream boldly, persevere, and never stop growing.

He was the proud father of eight children, a loving grandfather to fourteen grandchildren, and a joyful great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren. His legacy endures in each of them. Hugo filled our lives with wisdom, laughter, and countless stories of his childhood, his journey to America, and the lessons he learned along the way. There was never a moment spent with him that didn’t leave us richer for having listened.

Most importantly, Hugo loved God with all his heart. His faith was the cornerstone of his life. He taught us to love others as God loves us—with patience, grace, and forgiveness. In every trial, he reminded us to trust in God completely. That steadfast faith carried him through every hardship, and it continues to carry us now.

Losing him leaves a void that cannot be filled. We miss his voice, advice, humor, and presence deeply. Yet we are profoundly grateful for the example he set and the legacy of faith, resilience, and love that he leaves behind.
