

In Loving Memory of a kindhearted man, who was a Marine, and a Beloved Father and grandfather His strength, honor, and faith in God will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. Ian B. Mort, 69, of Chatsworth, California, passed away April 19, 2026, in North Hills, California. Born October 4, 1956, in Bolton, England, he was raised in the San Fernando Valley.
Ian served in the United States Marine Corps, achieving the rank of Sergeant (E-5), and later earned his U.S. citizenship—an accomplishment he deeply cherished.
He became a skilled forklift mechanic and co-founded Dependable Lift, known for his strong work ethic and reliability.
Ian was married to Patricia Mort for 25 years, and together they raised four children. He later shared over 25 years with his companion Kristi Baker and embraced her family as his own.
Ian was a kindhearted and well-accomplished man of integrity. He lived quietly but strongly—always dependable, always present, and always putting others before himself. He loved fishing, motorcycles, music—especially guitar—and the outdoors.
He is survived by his children, extended family, and 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held May 29 at Eternal Valley Memorial Park, Newhall, CA, at 12 PM.
