James Gerak lost his 32 year battle with cancer on Monday November 7, 2011. He moved to California in 1963 when he was 19 years old. In 1966 he joined the Los Angeles Police department where he became a police officer till he retired in 1986. After retiring from the Los Angeles Police department in 1986 he and his wife of 38 years (Diane Gerak) bought A-1 Equipment Rentals in Palmdale, CA where they both worked till they sold it in 2001. Jim and Diane moved to Agua Dulce, CA in 1980 and bought a little ranch house on 7 acres so he could have all kinds of animals; horses, cows, pigs, chickens, cats and most of all his beloved dogs. In 1991 he tore down the little ranch house and built a big beautiful home where he passed away on Monday November 7, 2011. Jim loved fishing, camping, cooking, animals and most of all his wife Diane. Jim will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
