James Jones Jr.

Jim was born in Chicago, IL on October 19, 1940 to James Jones, Sr. and Alfreda (Smith) Jones. He moved with his parents to California in 1949 and attended schools in the San Fernando Valley, graduating from Reseda High School in 1958.

Jim served in the United States Navy aboard the USS St. Paul from 1959-1961 and after being honorably discharged, he attended Los Angeles Trade Technical College and started his career as a draftsman at Rocketdyne in Canoga Park, CA.

It was during this time that he met his wife Judy and they married on November 16, 1962. They eventually had 2 daughters and 3 grandsons whom he loved dearly.

Jim then became a Project Manager & Director of Construction at several companies including Magic Mountain and Newhall Land and Farm. He retired in 2003 from C.W. Driver Construction.

He was an avid golfer and loved puttering around the yard, but most of all, he was a devoted family man and good friend. He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Jim is survived by his wife of almost 54 years, Judy, his daughters, Kelly Nelson and Kristy Jones, his grandsons, Garrett, Devon and CJ, his brother-in-law, Joe Zomar (Lynn), nephew Kyle Zomar and niece Krista Wright.

Services will be held July 30, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the upper chapel at Eternal Valley Memorial Park located at 23287 N. Sierra Highway, Newhall, CA 91321. The service will continue graveside with the presentation of military honors and a reception.
