Jim was born September 18, 1935, in Kansas City, Mo to Paul and Ellen Kenney. In 1945, the family moved and settled in Los Angeles, Ca. He graduated from Los Angeles High School in 1952, immediately enlisting in the United States Navy wanting to see the world. He retired with the rank of Chief Petty Officer in 1978, moving his young family back to Los Angeles, while continuing his career in Nuclear Medicine. In 2012, he officially retired to spend time creating new adventures with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Hsiu-Tsai Kenney, six children, grandson, and sister Mary Ann Gould.
He was proceeded in death by his granddaughter, Nicole Kathryn (2004 - 2005).

A funeral service for James will be held Friday, November 12, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Eternal Valley Memorial Park Mortuary, 23287 North Sierra Hwy, Newhall, CA 91321.
