July 22, 1962 – April 14, 2026
Jimmy Lopez, a man of big personality, strong opinions, and unmatched skill, passed away on April 14, 2026, in Sylmar, California. Born in Los Angeles on July 22, 1962, Jimmy was a vibrant force who filled every room he entered. He was a man who lived out loud, never hesitating to share his mind or his voice. He truly loved to have fun and believed in living life to the fullest, which was always on display when he was cheering for his favorite teams: the Lakers, the Dodgers, the Raiders, and the Rams.
Music was the heartbeat of Jimmy’s life. A lifelong lover of melody and rhythm, he was happiest with a guitar in his hands. It was his favorite thing to do, and he shared that passion generously with those around him.
A master carpenter by trade, Jimmy was legendary for his immense attention to detail. He could build anything, and he did so with a perfectionist’s eye. He believed that the quality of a man’s work was his signature, and he took immense pride in every cut, joint, and finished piece.
Jimmy is now reunited with his beloved wife, Mercedes, who passed away two and a half years ago. He was also preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn, his father, Frank, and his brother, Cyrus.
He leaves behind a legacy built on hard work, honest talk, and a song that will never truly fade. Jimmy was incredibly proud of his family; they were his greatest achievement. He is survived by his daughter, Alana, and his son, Jimmy. He was the proud grandfather to Jr., Anthony, Andrew, Adrin, Jaxson, Uriah, and Layla, whom he loved very much.
Jimmy was a force of nature—a loud, proud, and incredibly talented builder and musician who left an unmistakable mark on the world and the people he loved. He will be missed more than words can say
