Jannine Arlette Hoiby, 76, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2019, at West Hills Hospital in the San Fernando Valley after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. A funeral service in memory of Jannine will be held at 11am on Saturday, December 14, at Eternal Valley Memorial Park Mortuary, 23287 North Sierra Hwy, New Hall, California.
Jannine was born on April 4,1943 in LA City Hospital to Richard and Hazel Botting. Following her graduation from California State University Northridge, she taught in the Los Angeles Unified School District for 33 years. She had a passion for inspiring children to follow their dreams. She married her high school sweetheart, Randall Hoiby on June 24, 1967. They settled in Northridge, California and had two boys, Jason and Todd. Jannine loved nature, reflected in her beautiful landscaping at home and through her paintings. She had a strong Christian faith and attended church regularly. She loved to travel, often visiting her son Todd and his family in North Carolina. She is survived by her sister, Nancy Howarter; her brother, Dick Botting and her sons Jason and Todd, Todd’s wife Sarah, and their two loving children, Brandon and Mikayla Hoiby. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.
