Jeffrey Joseph Valaika

Jeff was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 6th 1952, to Anthony and Helen Valaika. He passed away September 20th 2023 at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, California with his family by his side.

Jeff’s childhood was spent in Stockton, Illinois where he graduated from Stockton High School in 1970. He furthered his education at Elmhurst University in Elmhurst, Illinois and returned to Stockton teaching Physical Education, and was Varsity Basketball Coach from 1976-1980. Jeff relocated to California to attain his masters in sports marketing. It was there he met his future wife Ilona Buzenas, and they married in 1982. They settled in Valencia, California where their five children were born and raised. His career as Property manager spanned 35 years for Roque and Mark of Santa Monica, California.

Jeff is survived by his beloved wife Ilona and their children and grandchildren, Chris and Alli Valaika, (Olivia) Matt and Amanda Valaika, (Tristan, Tenley and Teagan) Bri and Frankie Rodriguez, (Kinsley and Cruz) Patrick and Lauren Valaika, (Hudson and Josie) and Nicky and Morgan Valaika, (Scottie) He is also survived by his siblings, Thomas Valaika, (Mary Ellen Nowak) George (Cathy) Valaika, Carrie (Mark) Winchester, Peter Valaika, (Brenda Lang) and Elizabeth Duncanson.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Helen, brothers, Phillip and Tony, Ilona’s parents Ramunas and Irena Buzenas and brother Jonas Buzenas. He was also predeceased by sister-in-law Barbara Valaika and brother-in-law Scott Duncanson.
