Jesse was indeed an extraordinary individual.  

I met Jesse at Delano Recreation Center in Van Nuys during the summer of 1990, where I co-founded a summer day camp program, near Karen's place of business.  Jesse was age 10, and Natalie also attended the camp program.  (Matthew was just a baby back then.)  I befriended and mentored Jesse during the camp program as well as socially that year.  I was very impressed with his unique personality and sense of humor, as well as his creative ability.  (Jesse authored two or three brief sequels to the "Lethal Weapon" movie franchise PRIOR to the actual sequels' releases, which I typed up very professionally--this was pre-computers and word processors.  I still have the copies of his sequel scripts.)  A very bright, creative youngster, and eager to learn new experiences at camp (with my encouragement).

I realize that Jesse died over two years ago; I just learned of his passing while researching him online.  At the young age of 42, I am grieving the loss of this fine, upstanding young man that I once called my friend!  My SINCEREST CONDOLENCES go out to you, Karen (a life-long devout Stevie Ray Vaughan fan), and of course to Natalie and Matthew. 
I will always treasure my very fond memories of your family.  And I wish you all well in your futures!
