John was born on November 12, 1943, in San Francisco, California. He was the son of Anne Emma and Jefferson Charles Manninger. After John graduated from North Hollywood High School, he joined the United States Army. He served for three years in Germany as a paratrooper and medic.
Following his service with the Army, John went on to establish a successful electrical contracting firm in the Santa Clarita area, working for forty years before retiring in 2015. Upon retirement, John enjoyed visiting with friends and family, spending time by the water, taking road trips and cruises, and restoring his 1955 Chevrolet.
John is survived by his son John Manninger ll, brother Steve Manninger, sister Cynda Kaiser, loving nieces and nephews, and grandchildren Scarlett, Charles, Julia, and Oliver Manninger. He also leaves behind his long-term partner Pamela Woodruff, and her sons and four grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his father Jefferson Charles Manninger, his mother Anne Emma Manninger, his brother Jefferson Charles Manninger ll, and his nephew Michael Crown.
A memorial, military honors, and burial will occur on Monday March 28, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Eternal Valley Memorial Park and Mortuary, located at 23287 Sierra Highway, Newhall, California 91321.
