Juan was born in Mexico City, Mexico, October 18th, 1949 and was raised in Leon,Guanajuato. He immigrated to the United States at the age of 17 and lived with Tia Lili and Tio Jesus, his mother’s sister and her family. He started working to provide a home for his mother and younger brothers to bring them to the U.S. Neither Juan or Belinda knew that the Universe had a bigger plan for them, by meeting on New Year’s Eve 1972, at a party that neither wanted to attend. That’s where they’re love story began. Two years later they were married June 15th, 1974 and just celebrated their 50th Anniversary this year. Juan and Linda (as he called her), had two beautiful children Juanito and Christina. He was blessed with four grandchildren Saul, Mireya, Rico and Havana, a great granddaughter Cielo and a great grandson due in November this year, that will carry his name.
He had different jobs throughout his life, his favorite was being a truck driver. He was a hard worker and always provided for his family and made sure he made time for family trips. He loved vacationing with his family and friends. He traveled to many U.S. states bringing along his wife, parents, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed taking his wife and children to Mexico, specifically Leon, Guanajuato to meet and visit family. He took them to many different states in Mexico to be sure they knew how beautiful the country of Mexico is.
For Juan, some of the most memorable trips included taking his grandchildren to Tombstone, Arizona. He loved the movie and had to see it and experience it with them. Another trip he never forgot was to Washington State with his compadres Victor and Olda, along with all of the children in both families. Both families packed into his motorhome and he had to take his boat for all the luggage. He also enjoyed the many annual trips to Ensenada with his parents, children, grandchildren and friends. Lastly, he also loved going to Linda’s parent’s cabin in Frazier Park. Juan loved many things which included fishing, hunting, collecting firearms, reading, vacationing in the great outdoors and gatherings at his home. Some of his many skills included building things from scratch, from model airplanes to his home's patio. He was also a huge history buff and constantly had a book with him which led him to have an infinite wealth of knowledge. Juan loved music of all genres such as classic rock, blues, country, classical, rancheas and mariachis. Some of his favorite artists included B.B. King, The Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Led Zeppelin, Marco Antonio Solis, Mariachi Vargas De Tecalitlan and Vicente Fernandez.
Juan loved and cared about so many of you. He was an incredible human being with an energy and charismatic presence about him. No matter who he interacted with he left a lasting impression on them. He will be missed by all.
