Dad, it has been really hard without you.  There have been too many "firsts".  Nathan's first birthday without you.  It was extremely hard for him. It breaks my heart.  He wears your shoes to school, your button shirt to bed every night and feels and talks about you.  

Thanksgiving without you was devastating for me.  We still have Christmas, New Years and my Birthday in September was hard.

I know you are in heaven and are happy.  You are not suffering any more.  For that I am grateful.  I did see you watching over Nathan with a smile on your face.  My heart soared.  Dad I know you truly will never leave us.

I want you to know that I miss you so much.  You were the only person in my life that really cared about me.  I know you loved me because you made sure that I was taken care of.  I will never forget having to live across the tracks because that was the only place they allowed colored people and you live there with us.You didn't care as long as we were together. I will always remember how you enriched my life.You were the best brother a sister could ever have. I have so many memories. They will live in my heart forever. Everyday I make sure to look back at those memories and I can't help SMILE.

It broke my heart to see you go, but you didn't go alone. A part of me went with you. I know God took you, at the right time. He saw your pain and suffering and he decided, it was time to take you home. You said you were not afraid to die, just afraid to lose me. Remember, I'll be there, just wait for me.

Dad, you were the best father a daughter could have asked for.  I was Blessed to have you in my life. I will miss you every single day.  Watch over Nathan, he is lost without his papa.  He loves you so much.  I know in my heart you are dancing with my sister Elisa.  You are pain free and no longer sick.  You are visiting with Michael, Ronald, Jessica, Dolores, Pey, both your parents and my grandma Josefina.

Thank you for being in my life and for making my son the other light of your life besides my mother.  You two were two peas in a pod since the day he was born until the day you passed.

Dad, watch over us from above.  We love you.

Uncle Johnny always had a smile on his face and was a master story teller. I'll always remember his laughter and tales of growing up in Puerto Rico. I'll always think of you when I watch a boxing match. Love you.
