

She was born to the late Willie and Eloise Lusane on May 25, 1940, in Prattville, Alabama. The family moved to Birdsboro, Pennsylvania in the early 1940s; she was the eldest of 9 children. Juanita graduated from Exeter Township High School in 1958. She then migrated to New York in the early 1960s where she worked at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital for 46 years, here she met some of her closest lifelong friends.
Juanita is survived by one child: Lori Perez (Hiram). Three Grandchildren: Leshante, Laurice, and Taj. Four Great Grandchildren: Justyn, Ryan, MarQuise and MeLani. Three Sisters: Joyce Lusane, Barbara Earp, Tracy Farquharson. One Brother: Tyrone Lusane; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends. Juanita was preceded in death by her son, Troy Lusane; sister, Linda Simmons; brothers: Howard Lusane, Barry Lusane and Terry Lusane.
Juanita will be remembered for her sweet disposition and caring demeanor. She loved to sing, American history, and was an avid reader of mysteries. Juanita was a strong woman who loved taking care of her family.
Dearly loved as the matriarch of our Lusane family, Juanita’s memory will be cherished and forever kept in our hearts.
