My brother, my dad, and I will be traveling from out of state for her Celebration of Life Service. Because of this, we are asking that in lieu of flowers you consider making a donation towards one of these two causes that were important to my mom.

Both of my mom's parents and my mom's mother-in-law suffered from or are currently suffering from dementia/Alzheimer's Disease so we are asking for donations to the Alzheimer's Association.

My mom also deeply loved her pit bull Riley, her cats Leo & Izzy, and all her other rescue pets through the years. To honor her love of her animals, are asking for donations for the Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control, a rescue I have volunteered with for many years. They who work closely with the city shelter in Chicago to try and save as many homeless dogs & cats as possible.

Scott & family - Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. From all accounts of your tribute, Kathy was a wonderful woman with a big heart for her family & others. Your family's heart will be understandably heavy and leaning on the memories of happier times will lessen the grief. She will remain in your hearts and minds forever. Be kind to yourselves as you grieve, accept help when needed and continue to honor all that Kathy stood for.

On November 6th, I lost my best friend and love of my life. Kathy’s heart stopped while driving to visit a customer and she passed away shortly afterwards. She was with one of her co-workers at the time who immediately called an ambulance but she never regained consciousness at the hospital. I got to speak with her one last time when she called to say the ambulance was in route.
Kathy and I were married for 35 years and she had no greater love than for her family. Mike, Melissa and I miss her tremendously. She was fiercely protective of her kids and put them first in every aspect of her life. We were looking forward to retirement; traveling, camping and enjoying life.
Kathy also loved her pets, all rescues, and had a special place in her heart for our pit bull Riley. Riley is missing Kathy. She spends her time looking out the front window waiting for her person to come home.
Last but not least, Kathy is survived by her mom, Jackie, Ann Arbor, MI who suffers from dementia and her sister, also Jackie, and Jackie's family from South Bend, In.
