9/2/1938 in Dalhart, Tx. He passed from this earth on November 1, 2020 in Valencia, CA to
join his parents, Mildred and Charles (Doc) Roberts, his daughter, Nancy Barnes, and
nephew, Ronald Wedhoff, who preceded him in death.
Dad leaves behind his loving wife of more than 55 years, our mother Lorraine. Dad also leaves
behind his 4 adult daughters, Theresa Roberts, Lory (Joe) Lomont, Sue (Paul) Hand, Kathy
(Glenn) Park, niece Deanne (Ray) Arroyo, who was more like his 6th daughter, sister Linda
Wedhoff, as well as 13 grandchildren and 15 (and a half) great-grandchildren.
Dad was a U.S. Army Veteran, Co-founder of Roberts Home Improvement, former Secretary to
The Loyal Order of The Moose, Mint Canyon. Dad was an amazing cook, owning many
restaurants, including The Country Inn, The Town House and Kozy Lil Kafe. He was an avid
bowler, spending several nights a week in various bowling leagues at Valencia Lanes and Santa
Clarita Lanes from the late 1960’s until around 2015, when his health began to decline. Dad
maintained his education at COC while we girls were still in school so that he could help with
our schoolwork when needed, and to enjoy the opportunity to just learn. He loved his family
fiercely, and although he was a man of few words, he was profoundly well-spoken and heard.
Dad had a sense of humor that was not lost on any of us. He made us think to understand that
humor, and it was always funny when we finally understood. An example, one day Dad was
standing by the television looking down at it and I asked what he was doing. His reply “It says
please stand by”. Another occasion was when we were in the car and he reached over and
grabbed my mother’s head. When she asked what he was doing, his reply was “It says stop
ahead”.
Dad built a special and unique bond with each of his daughters, but his love was equal
throughout and we knew it. We were all his favorite and he let it show at every opportunity he
had.
Fly high with the angels, Dad, we love you!
