Kevin was born in the San Fernando Valley, in Van Nuys, California to Fritz and Irene Kurzweg. He is survived by his sister Karleen Lydia Kurzweg Martin. He is preceded in death by his father Gottfred Kurzweg in 2017 and his mother Irene Geiszler Kurzweg in 2006 and his sister, Cheryl Marie Kurzweg Redekopp in 1990.
He had three nieces, Charise Redekopp Mosher, Christy Redekopp Hanson and Eliana Martin Hendra. He had two nephews, Steven Redekopp and Daniel Martin and also many cousins.
Kevin loved music and enjoyed listening to his record collection. There was always music being played in the home on the piano and organ as well. He was fond of climbing to the very top of the jungle gym in the backyard. He always knew when the next birthday or holiday was coming and delighted in opening gifts. When his parents would talk in German, he would get a kick out of it and just laugh. We all enjoyed family dinners every Sunday after church with family and friends.
When he was a teenager, he moved to LARC Ranch in Saugus, California. He loved it there. It was his home for 50 years and lived a wonderful and full life, participating in the activities there and enjoying many, many friendships. He won lots of medals from the Special Olympics and other competitions and loved to dance, go bowling and swimming and always had a magazine or two, or three in his hand.
Kevin was a polite, friendly and outgoing guy who gave great hugs and was friends with everybody he met.
