She met her future Husband, Edward Michael Shelton, working at the Department of Agriculture, she a Secretary, he worked in the Mail Room and delivered mail to her desk. They were married February 22, 1961.
They welcomed four daughters whom she supported and loved through many changes over the Years. Moving to Peoria, Ill, then to California, which she loved. Eventually going to work for the U.S. Attorney Office in Los Angeles. She was proud of her work there and retired in 1998.
Lilly loved being a Grandma, cheering on Kristin, Evan, Valerie & Joshua in their school and extracurricular activities. She particularly enjoyed finding each a Unique Christmas Ornament every year, adding Great-Grandson James in 2023.
