Celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on the 16th of August at Eternal Valley Memorial Park. Reception to immediately follow from 12:00pm-2:00pm.
Lorina was born in Hollywood, California at Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital to Kelton and Janice Seelig on November 20th, 1960. She had one brother, Mitch Seelig, who was born in 1964. As a child, her family moved to Chatsworth CA where she lived throughout the rest of her life. She attended Chatsworth High School, where she was on the drill team. She also was involved in junior bowling league as a teenager where she earned numerous awards.
After high school she attended Pierce Community College and began working. During her years working as a data entry specialist at a clothing store, she met many wonderful people. Her coworker Cheryl introduced her to her brother Thomas Siegrist, and what began as a simple introduction blossomed into a loving relationship that led to their marriage. Lorina and Thomas Siegrist were married on September 19th, 1987, in Calabasas, CA. They welcomed their first child, Christopher Siegrist, on June 23rd, 1988. After five years, they welcomed their second child, April Siegrist, on September 16th, 1993. Becoming a mother was her proudest moment, and she carried that joy with her every day of her life.
After a few years of working at Health Net, she accepted a position in underwriting at Kaiser Permanente. She devoted 31 years to Kaiser Permanente, beginning her career there in 1995. Through hard work, determination, and a deep commitment to her colleagues and community, she led numerous areas within the department and ultimately worked her way up to Executive Director of Underwriting. She was a respected leader who generously mentored many throughout her career, leaving a lasting impact on those she guided and worked alongside.
She believed life’s greatest gifts were found in shared experiences. She loved exploring the world, finding excitement in every road trip, campsite, and shared adventure. Traveling and camping with family and friends brought her happiness, filling her life with laughter, stories, and unforgettable memories. She cherished her weekly trivia nights, book club meetings, game nights at home and dinners with friends. Birthdays and holidays were her favorite time of year, and she took immense joy in hosting gatherings that brought family and friends together to celebrate, creating traditions filled with warmth, love, and togetherness. In addition to family, she had a deep love for animals and could never turn away a dog in need.
