Lorna had an unwavering faith in God and was spiritually involved with the church throughout her entire life. Her faith has always been an inspiration to her children, extended family and friends.
A consummate mother, caregiver and homemaker, Lorna was an excellent cook and enjoyed making meals, sweets and surprises for her family, her friends and for all occasions. She was an avid reader.
Lorna was a gifted seamstress, a hand quilter, and loved the arts and crafts. She loved to sing and play piano and had a wonderful ear for music. She loved to watch musicals, family shows, and laugh with “I love Lucy.”
She was a caretaker early in life which forged the future for her as a nurse for 20 years in the Emergency Room, Critical Care Unit and Intensive Care Unit at Verdugo Hills Hospital in Glendale, CA.
When her career as a nurse ended, her care-taking did not. She cared for her aging mother as well as her grandchildren, and a multitude of other infants and toddlers.
Lorna was most admired for her strength and fortitude, managing to raise 5 children primarily as a single mother, all while continuing her education and working full time.
Lorna is survived by her daughters Susan and Mary, her sons Jeffery and John and her seven grandchildren.
Lorna was predeceased by her Mother and Father, Mary and Donald, her brothers Mike and Steve, her sister Jeanette and her youngest son Joseph. May they all meet and rejoice.
Be still and know that I am God Psalm 46:10
