

Lydia was a resident of Van Nuys, California. She married Manuel V. Lara in 1963, and together they raised four children: Teri, Manuel, Alma, and Lily. Her family grew to include 24 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished deeply.
A hard-working and resilient individual, Lydia dedicated over 25 years of service to the environmental services department at Kaiser. Her honesty and strong-willed nature were well known to those around her. Lydia was never afraid to express her opinions, and her feisty spirit was a testament to her character.
In her leisure time, Lydia found joy in knitting, creating baby blankets for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a testament to her enduring love and care for her family. Her personal qualities and legacy are marked by her loving nature and her refusal to hold back in sharing her thoughts.
In her final days, Lydia was lovingly cared for by her daughter Alma and her husband, who provided her with compassionate care. Lydia was loved by many and will be missed forever.
Funeral services will be held at Eternal Valley Memorial Park & Mortuary, in The Monarch, located at 23287 North Sierra Hwy, Newhall, California, on February 28, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Interment will follow at Sierra Vista Garden at the same address, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. with reception to follow.
