

Margie Crowder, age 78, passed away peacefully at home on August 22, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. Margie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose strong yet loving personality touched everyone who knew her. She was a giving and kind soul who never missed an opportunity to celebrate the people she loved, always remembering birthdays, holidays, and special occasions.
Born in Whittier, California, on January 18, 1946, Margie grew up as an only child and developed a deep love for her family and animals. Margie met the love of her life, Michael Crowder, after being set up on a blind date by her friends Cristy and Ron. They were a perfect match, and together Margie and Michael built a beautiful life filled with joy, family, and a shared passion for animals, street rods, and close-knit friendships. Their marriage, marked by unwavering love and commitment, spanned over 58 years.
Margie was witty, smart, and had a strong work ethic. She worked for Pacific Phone Company before becoming a stay-at-home mom to raise Michelle and Marty. After her children grew older, she worked as a receptionist for a local orthodontist and later in the greeting card industry. Margie was well-liked and known for her countless friendships and relationships that spanned multiple decades, bridging friends to family. Margie is survived by her loving husband, Michael Crowder, of Santa Clarita; her son, Marty Crowder (48), and daughter-in-law, Danielle Crowder (48); her grandchildren, Makayla (22), Makenzie (19), Madden (15) of Simi Valley; Sydney Jo Brackett (26) and her husband, Felix Brackett (28), of Santa Clarita. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Michelle Kennedy; her mother, Margaret McDowell; her father, Laurence Kimmel; and her stepfather, Robert McDowell.
Her love for her husband, children, grandchildren, animals, and extended family was evident in every aspect of her life. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her presence will be deeply missed.
