Marlene Lidya Andrade Mora de Delgado

Marlene Lydia Andrade de Delgado went home with The Lord on January 22nd, 2023. She was born in Managua, Nicaragua to José Maria Andrade Soto and Simona Mora Chevez on March 27, 1950. She married her childhood sweetheart, Gustavo Delgado Sr.. on May 2nd, 1970. She leaves behind her husband Gustavo; her children Mitzy and Jeremy (spouse), Gustavo Jr. and Sandra (spouse), and daughter Karem; grandchildren Jeremy, Gabrielle, Benjamin, Gabriela and Levi.

She was tenatious and courageous until the end. Together with her beloved husband, she raised her family and through hard work and sacrifices, they helped all their children graduate from college at UCLA. But, for her, her greatest achievement was that all her children and grandchildren serve The Lord today.

Marlene’s contagious love for life made her attract people from all walks into her circle of influence. After migrating to Panamá, she got to know Jesus as her healer after her four year old was healed from a head injury. She was a leader in every church she attended. Meanwhile, she became a leader of women in Aglow International. As the president of Aglow, the movement grew from 30 to more than 250 attendees in the capital city; and other chapters were opened throughout the country.

Then, she migrated to the U.S.A., she and her beloved husband graduated from Angelus Bible Institute taught there for several years. Then, she and Gustavo were called to serve as pastors in Acton, CA until they left there to found one of the first bilingual churches in Palmdale, CA, Promise of God, where Gustavo still pastors today.

Always searching deeper, she embraced her Jewish heritage and started attending Beth Emunah Messianic Synagogue with Karem and Gustavo. Connecting to her Jewish roots allowed her to pass on a richer wealth of traditions to her family.

"She leaves a legacy of being a genuine woman of faith and a strong prayer warrior who loved and cared for everyone around her. Her legacy will keep all of us who loved her, hoping and believing in God’s promises. Marlene Lydia was truly a Proverbs 31 virtuous woman.
