
Mike was born August 12, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York. Son of a Sicilian father an immigrant Irish mother. He he was born with an Italian disposition and an Irish temper. He was the envy of all of the kids in Little Italy. He attended PS 186 public school in Brooklyn until his parents moved to California where he attended Hughes junior high school, then onto Canoga Park high graduated in 1965. Everyone knew Mike his popularity was infectious to all who were lucky enough to cross his path. Handsome, generous full of fun and always with a twinkle in his eyes. Everyone who knew him agreed he was a special guy. Mike had magnetic personality. After all he was “Mike D’Amico” like his name in Italian he was commonly known as “The Friend”.
Mike enlisted in the United States Marines. He was deployed to Vietnam and served in 1966-67. He was a proud Marine and Patriot. While serving in the war he was honored with many metals including 2 Purple Hearts. After returning home from the Military Mike was approached by Bell Helicopter offering a job in Isfahan, Iran. He lived there for 5 years.
In 1979 Mike met Debbie Clark from Wisconsin at Pacific Airomotive in Burbank where they both worked. In 1983 They were married at First Lutheran church in Van Nuys California. Mike and Debbie have been married for 42 years. Then spent many years in the aerospace industry at Boeing, McDonald Douglas and Lockheed before branching out into the Motion Picture Industry. Starting at Consolidated Film Industry and Technicolor. After his professional career. He and Debbie began their next chapter in life by traveling the world and touring the United States explored in their RV. They finally settled down in California and at the Lakehouse in Wisconsin.
March 28, 2026 Mike was called to heaven where he’s with Jesus.
Mike left behind his wife Debbie Brother Tom D’Amico Brother-in-laws and Sister-in-laws Kevin and Veronica Clark, Ozi and Tracy Rodriguez and Karen nieces and nephews Marni Jimmy Angela Ashley Jaclyn Tommy Patrick Andrew Raquel Daniel Kortney.
Mike will always be in our hearts.
