Michael attended Pond School, then Cecil Avenue School and graduated from Delano High School in 1973. He then attended UCLA college and graduated in 1978 with a degree in Business Economics. He was a proud member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity; chapter Epsilon-Sigma Zeta “Pin 700”! Post college, he began a 40 year career in Construction Management, primarily in major commercial building structures & complexes.
Michael was an avid sports fan, golfer and very talented photographer. Also, having ownership in a travel agency with his wife, Paula, they traveled the world setting foot on 6 of 7 continents. He had a passion to explore and loved to Cruise. He took a total of 27 cruises with a 17-year straight streak of sailing the seas.
Michael was kind, humorous, intelligent and extremely creative. He was truly loved by everyone.
Michael will be greatly missed by the love of his life, Paula (Cosby) Harness, wife of 32 years; his brother, Richard Harness, wife Judy and their two children, Justin and Carrie (Porter); both Michael’s and Paula’s immediate and extended families, and last but not least, his beloved dog, Lizzy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Marjorie (Kraft), and his sister Karen.
The burial of Michael will be held at Eternal Valley Memorial Park Mortuary (23287 North Sierra Hwy Newhall, CA 91321; 661-259-0800) on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at noon with a “Celebration of Life” reception to immediately follow.
