Michael Redmond, 75, of Hawthorne, California, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
Michael was born on May 30, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri. He lived a life defined by service, compassion, and a deep commitment to helping others. As a veteran and medic, he served his country with courage and dedication, caring for others in some of the most challenging circumstances.
Following his military service, he continued his calling in healthcare as a nurse, working in trauma units and as a traveling nurse, where his skill, calm presence, and compassion brought comfort and care to patients in critical moments. His colleagues respected him not only for his knowledge and professionalism but also for the steady,
reassuring way he carried himself in high-pressure situations.
In addition to his work in nursing, Michael was a passionate educator. He taught anatomy, chemistry, biology, physiology, and more at several acupuncture schools, where he took great pride in mentoring and inspiring his students. He had a gift for making complex subjects understandable and meaningful, and he leaves behind a legacy in the many students whose lives and careers he helped shape.
Above all, the roles Michael cherished most were being a husband and a father. His beloved wife and daughter were the center of his life and his greatest joy, and his love for them was evident in all that he did. He will also be remembered for his strength and his sense of humor, which brought comfort, laughter, and light to those around him.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his service, his compassion, and the countless lives he touched. He will be loved, always and forever.
